Work experience is becoming increasingly important as employers put more and more focus on the personality and character of candidates rather than the subject area or final grade of their degree. Work experience is also a fantastic way to try on a few different careers and see what suits you the most.

In this guide we have put together our top articles on work experience, including what it is and why it is important, how to write a CV when you have no experience, how to make sure any unpaid work experience you have works for you, and how to get the most out of your work experience.

Get a Christmas job with all the trimmings

A Christmas job is simply temporary work that you perform over the holidays. Because of the large upswing in consumers, companies need more help in stores for a certain amount of time. This opens up way more opportunities for candidates looking for some work experience and extra cash.

There is also a chance that if you get a seasonal job and do some truly excellent work, you could get a permanent offer or be invited back to work the year after. Always take the job seriously and put your best foot forward.
