What's the next step in your career?

Are you thinking about your options for when you leave education? We want to show you what your future could look like, if you were to choose a career with BDO in Tax or Audit.

Apply for Audit or Tax roles
Meet Martha
Martha made the choice to join BDO in 2015. Before applying, she knew she wanted a challenge with real variety which could take her to places she had never been.

Martha spent some time considering her options and researched organisations which aligned with her career aspirations. She decided that a career in Audit was the right fit for her and submitted an application to BDO.
Working within Audit in our Financial Services team for over 2 years, Martha has had the opportunity to tailor her career path and work towards her own ambitions. You can read more career journeys from our students, here.
So, why Tax or Audit?
Audit
Think of the Audit as an organisation's health check. Audit gives vital assurance about the viability of the business.
A career in Audit gives you:
  • Exposure to clients. You'll build relationships with clients from day one.
  • Travel. With clients throughout the world, opportunities to travel are endless.
  • Qualification. If you complete the programme, you'll achieve the ACA qualification.

 Tax
Tax related issues can often stand in the way of an organisation's short term goals and long term vision.
A career in tax gives you:
  • Variety. Tax is an ever-changing environment so no two weeks will ever be the same.
  • Exposure to clients. You'll work with high net worth clients, gaining invaluable experience.
  • Qualification. Completing the programme will mean you achieve the CTA qualification.

We offer a range of programmes across our network so young people can pick the one that’s right for them. Whichever option they choose, they will earn while they learn, gaining hands-on business experience as they work towards their professional qualifications.
With RSM, our students enjoy a fast-tracked business career that recognises they’re potential and rewards their ambition. Our two-year school leaver programme will give them all the skills and support they need to unlock a future that’s packed with opportunities and new experiences.
We offer a range of business areas in professional services for students to start their careers with us. Here are just a few:
  • Accounting and business advisory
  • Internal audit
  • Tax
  • External Audit
After they have completed their 2 year programme, we would then offer a graduate scheme to them for an additional 3 years. This means they can be fully qualified in 5 years.
We are currently looking for school leavers to join RSM in August 2017. To find out more about our opportunities, please use the link below.

Kennedys Law are delighted to confirm we will be offering Legal Apprenticeships to start in September 2017.

The purpose of this email is to give you as much information as possible, as I’m sure some of your bright students completing their A levels this summer will be interested by this alternative route into law rather than going to university.  It is a fantastic opportunity to work, learn and earn.
Kennedys were named as a Top Apprenticeship provider in the Telegraph in 2015 (and were the only law firm to be listed). We have been offering Legal Apprenticeships since 2012, and have created a video featuring our current and previous legal apprentices’ experiences here

For more information, please like our Facebook page.
We use BPP University Law School as our learning provider for the apprenticeship programme. They have over 20 years’ experience in delivering professional legal qualifications and have earned a place as one of the largest law schools in the UK. BPP also have 7 locations across the UK making it easily accessible for students, in whichever office they are based.
Key information:
Office Locations:
  • Birmingham
  • Cambridge
  • Chelmsford
  • London
  • Manchester
  • Sheffield
  • Taunton
Starting salary:
  • £18,500 per annum in London
  • £15,750 per annum regionally
  • All training and qualification costs will be paid for.
Qualifications gained:
  • A Higher National Diploma in Legal Practice upon successful completion of the two year apprenticeship.
Future prospects:
  • There are opportunities to progress to the Solicitor Apprenticeship, which will take apprentices through to qualification as a Solicitor.
  • This is an exciting prospect, as up until 2015, the only way students could qualify as a Solicitor was via the traditional university route.
The legal apprenticeship has four key benefits:
  • Earn - Students can expect a generous starting salary.  All of their training costs are paid for, meaning the ability to gain qualifications with no debt.  Starting salaries are £18,500 in London, and £15,750 in the regional offices.
  • Learn – we will have a learning provider specialising in law to teach and mentor our apprentices.
  • Work – Apprentices will have a dedicated supervisor in one of our legal teams. We encourage our apprentices to take on responsibilities quickly, and they will be involved in legal work from their first week (they will not be limited to the photocopier!)
  •  Play – our Apprentices enjoy a great social life too, with many social and sporting events taking place after work. Our apprentices also get on very well as a group, and have even been on holidays together.
How to apply:
The closing date to apply is 28 February 2017. To apply, please click on the appropriate office below:
Please do let me know if you would like us to send leaflets and some promotional merchandise to you in the post.
We look forward to hearing from you.
